NEW SITE COMING SOON The Red Dwarf Zone will be returning to your computer screens later this month. Be sure to keep checking our new address http://www.thereddwarfzone.co.uk for our launch. I hope you can enjoy reading my site aa much as I have enjoyed making it. |

WELCOME TO THE NEW SITE Welcome to The Red Dwarf Zone. This is the new website. I hope you like it. The site is still underconstruction, so many pages aren't up yet. I was in a hurry to get my website on the net, please be patient it shouldn't take much longer now. While doing my new site, I realised how naff some of the information was on it, so over time I will be changing it all, and hopefully improving it. I will also be incorporating a PHP system for the news within the next few weeks which will make it much easier for me to submit and archive it, and easier for you to find the news you want. The website is still in the development stages, and I am kinda just testing it out at the moment. Because I created the website with a fast connection and high-resolution computer screen, it is difficult for me to tell if people with slow connections are having difficulty loading any of the pages, or if any of the pages look god-awful on a small computer screen. If there are any problems with the design of my website, please drop me an e-mail and I will get changing it right away. Hope you enjoy reading my site as much as I have enjoyed making it, Danny Pendleton. |

OFFICIAL SITE UPDATES The Official Website has had it's usual Friday update. Included in this weeks update is a Dimension Jump 2004 update, with a list of stars slated to attend - Chris, Hattie, Danny, and Rob will all be there, along with SFX Mike Tucker, John Lenahan, Shend and Andrew Ellard. Click here for the details. Also featured today is a quiz on Felis-sapiens, which you can attempt here. Also a heads up to Ganymede & Titan for spotting this update at the official Site. Looks like the Filming date has yet again been set back, but with the pre-production date being set it loks like it may actaully be going ahead. Pre production is slated for a July 2004 start, with filming in January! We have updated our Red Dwarf: The Movie page with the new information. |

THE COX SUPREMACY The trailer has been out for a while, but I have not seen any other Red Dwarf site report it. The trailer for The Bourne Supremacy, sequel to The Bourne Identity, is now up at Apple.com and Brian Cox (The King from Stoke Me A Clipper) returns for the sequel. You can see him in the trailer by clicking here. On a similar note, Troy was released at cinemas yesterday, in which Brian Cox also stars. Be sure not to miss it! |

DVD BOXSET After receiving word that the Red Dwarf Series I to IV DVDs were being released in a box set, I decided to check some of the online stores for any information on this. Amazon.co.uk seems to be the only one listing this boxset, and lists it for a 20th September 2004 release. If you haven't got the Series I - IV DVDs yet, then it may be nice to purchase them in a box set. Click here for more. |

MOUTH-WATERINGLY GEORGEOUS SPECIAL FEATURES The Official Website has updated this friday, as usual, with some great information on the Series VI DVD. Andrew Ellard has recently directed a Featurette for the DVD at Laredo, the location where Gunmen of Apocalypse was filmed. Return to Laredo is also presented by a cowboy-clad Robert Llewellyn. The Series VI DVD looks like it will be action packed, making all previous releases look like a barebones release. Click here to read up on the new featurette. Also at TOS is news of The Brittas Empire - Series IV being released on DVD, however Ganymede & Titan beat them to the news yesterday, but I never got round to updating. Click here to read the official website's news, and here for what G&T discovered yesterday. |

BEST RED DWARF EVER! Ganymede & Titan have spotted this series 5 extra over at the British Board of Film Classification. As G&T state, this is likely to be Craig Charles' introduction to Christmas '95's repeat of Back to Reality. With this only being short (1 minute), I would guess that this will be an Easter Egg rather than a feature on Disc 2. Click here to read what G&T has to say about it. |

DWARF AT AICN Ganymede & Titan have noticed this article at Aint It Cool News. Not much new information on the movie, basically just a bashing the movie's delays, but still one of the only non-Dwarf sites keeping up-to-date on the movie's status. |

SERIES V DVD COVER? I'm not sure about this one, but I was just e-mailed this image about 5 minutes ago (1 pm). The quality isn't very good on it, but the person claims it is the Series V cover art. The editing looks a bit shobby in areas, and there is also no spine on the image so I'm not sure if this is just a photoshoped image or the real deal. I'll let you make up your own mind, we'll find out later on in the year. ![]() |

MORE V EXTRAS Ganymede & Titan point out this extra over at the BBFC. The SFX of Red Dwarf V is the same footage that Mike Tucker shown at Dimension Jump X, in which he has specially recorded a voice over for the DVD footage, as stated in this previous official site report here. This is a very exciting feature and I can't wait until November! The Series V and VI DVDs are looking to thrash anything the previous four series have done on DVD. |

OFFICIAL SITE ROUND-UP The official site has updated with news on BTL magazine which should be delivered to Red Dwarf Fan Club members any time soon. A new centre section in the magazine, Dwarf Times, launches with information on the very first series of Red Dwarf, which sounds really interesting. More on the latest issue of Better Than Life can be found by clicking on this link here. Also new at the official website this week is a look at the cover art for Series IV and Series V of The Brittas Empire. It looks like the Brittas DVDs have finally broken the same colour pattern as the Red Dwarf DVDs. I kinda like both covers, especially the Series V cover with the Ostrich, you can read up on them here. Also check out the covers on the official site, here, and some great news that the Brittas 5 DVD will contain outtakes and more extras, along with the Christmas Special. ![]() Before I continue with the OS updates, I would like to apologise for the poor joke with the ostrich link above. Also at the official website is information on Craig Charles' role in the upcoming short movie The Dealer (which also stars Series VIII's Ricky Grover). You can read this here, but also ceck out Big Blake for more information on the movie. |

G&T'S SURPRISE VISITOR Ganymede & Titan have had a comment on one of their news articles from none other than Doug Naylor. Whether this is actually him, or just a visitor who decided to tease them I am unsure, but the comment from him seems quite genuine. It looks like the movie is finaly going to be made! Well done G&T! ![]() |

LLEWELLYN TALKS MOVIE Nothing major was revealed, but Robert Llewellyn signed his guestbook (http://www.llew.co.uk) yesterday with some news on Red Dwarf: The Movie... ![]() As I said, nothing major was revealed, but it does look like the movie is starting to move somewhere. Some animations? These are either rough animatics or some of the CGI Special Effects shots have been completed (or nearly completed). I think it was mentioned a while back that Special Effects had started on the movie. |

MORE AT THE BBFC This has been at the BBFC for a day or two, but seems to have gone unnoticed. There is a feature titled BBC Worldwide - Autumn 2004 which the BBFC state is a "Promo". One of the categories in this feature is "Red Dwarf - Series V", lasting 1 minute and 55 seconds. Could this be a whole bunch of different DVD extras that that the BBC submitted at the same time, or is it some sort of advertisement promotion for upcoming DVDs? Well I have no idea, but click here to go there anyway. |

MOVIE CAMEOS Just came across this interesting news over at the Red Dwarf: The Movie page at The Z Review. It dates back to April, but I have only just spotted it. Some people may consider this spoiler material, so please highlight it to read: (SPOILER - highlight to read) Just received word that Red Dwarf creators Doug Naylor and Rob Grant will have cameo appearances in the movie. Also signed up for small roles are former Kryten Actor David Ross and former Holly Actress Hattie Hayridge. These cameo appearences sound cool, however the Rob Grant cameo is highly unlikely due to his uninvolvement with the project. I think Hattie's cameo is a given, and I would be highly dissapointed if she wasn't offered a small role in the movie. (End SPOILER) For now I can't really see any truth to this, but it would be good to see :-) UPDATE: Oops, it looks like this was reported afterall at Ganymede & Titan. My bad! |

MOVIE PRODUCER CONFIRMED Quite a while back Aint It Cool News reported here that producers Richard Keddie and Jane Ballantyne had joined the production of Red Dwarf: The Movie. Last night I e-mailed the Australian Film Commission to try and get any information about Red Dwarf: The Movie. In their reply, they said: Our records indicate that it is in the development phase. The Producer is Richard Keddie and the only contact details we have is an address, but no telephone contact. Richard Keddie??? Is this confirmation that he IS the Producer? It's from a pretty reliable source. |

THE REAL SERIES V COVER Well this is the REAL one, over at the BBC Shop, here which is also available to pre-order.
CLICK TO ENLARGE The cover is quite nice, but it has a major difference to the previous four - where is the "Grant Naylor Productions" logo in the bottom left corner? I'm guessing that this is probably just a draft version and some changes are likely to appear over the coming weeks. Also note the release date: 8th November!!! We have updated our DVD Section with the new information and images. |

NORM AT JO-JO'S Matt Kirshen e-mailed us to tell us of a gig Norman Lovett will be attending at Madame JoJo's in Soho, London: Hello, I don't know if you have space on your websites for this kind of thing, but this Tuesday (15th June), Norman Lovett heads a bill of top comics at Madame JoJo's in Soho, London. The Price is £8/£5 concs and the show starts at 8pm. More info can be found at http://www.underhand.net/jojo.php It should be a fantastic night and I'd be grateful if you have any way of letting Dwarf fans know about it. Thank you, Matt I love the pun - "Norman Lovett heads..." you know, Holly... head... erm... anyways, thanks for the "heads" up Matt. Red Dwarf fans now know about it, it will be a great night folks! If you can get to Soho easily I suggest you give it a try. Unfortunatly I'm not going to travel down from Liverpool - how come no stars ever do shows up here (obviously I'm not talking about Rob Llewellyn, his WomanWizard show was fantastic!) Also, on a totaly irrelivent note, Fan Club Members are now receiving the latest issue of Better Than Life, mine came through the post this morning. |

WHAT'S NEW AT THE OS? Well here's today's official site report. There were just two updates today. First up is a look at some of the new stock to become available at London's Prop Store, such as Lister's AR cheats books from Stoke Me a Clipper, tapes delivered in Better Than Life, Cat's 'High' robes, and an injection gun used in Epideme. For more check out this page at the OS. Also check out the georgeous displays for Kryten's and Rimmer's watches. Also at the official website this friday, Mr. Flibble blasts off with an interesting interview with Rocket, Red Dwarf IV's camera supervisor (what a cool name!). That can be found right here. |

NORM'S GIG CANCELLED Some bad news for the people who were planning on seeing Norman Lovett at Madame JoJos, which we reported on above. Matt Kirshen has e-mailed me again to inform me that the gig has now be cancelled: I'm really sorry about this, but because of a dispute between the promoters and the venue managers the gig is not taking place now. It looks like all comedy at Madam JoJo's is finishing because of that, but certainly this week's. Could you mention this on your site in case people turn up? It's a real shame because it would have been a great night. I'm sure it would have been a great night! Sorry folks! |

KOO Not an overly-interesting update, but I came across this interesting image of Koo Stark (aka Lady Sabrina Mulholland-JJones) who had a small role in the very first Star Wars movie in 1977, who unfortunatly had her scenes cut.

NEWS FROM DIMENSION JUMP Yet again, I was stuck at home like a boring git while all other Red Dwarf fans were enjoying the always-amazing Dimension Jump. Why are they always scheduled when I have other engagements??? Anyways, news has begun to spring up on other websites about the events of Dimension Jump. Both The White Hole and Ganymede & Titan report on the very exciting news on Red Dwarf: The Movie which is closer to being made than ever, and pre-production is likely to begin in August (delayed AGAIN, from July - but I'm not complaining)! It looks like it is finaly going to be made! Also expect a full report on the event up on G&T soon. |

CRAIG ON BIG B Joshua alerted us that Craig Charles will be apearing on Big Brother's Eforum. Unfortunatly he did not give a date for when he will be on, so be sure to check it out over the coming weeks. If I find a date I will tell you all. UPDATE: Blake has posted more information on this over at G&T. Craig Will appear on Wednesday's episode which is on E4 at 7pm (or 12:30am the next morning). |

RED DWARF MODELS ON E-BAY Ganymede & Titan have some rather interesting news here. Up on e-bay are two Red Dwarf Models, one of Lister and the other of Rimmer (although the seller does confuse he two characters). As you will all know from reading our previous descriptions, we at Dapol made a selection of Action Figures for the BBC under a Doctor Who brand license. However what you will not know is that we were also approached to make models for RED DWARF. We got as far as making the master models but for many reasons we did not progress to manufacturing. Therefore we now wish to dispose of the ONLY TWO MASTER MODELS that we made of LISTER. These are without doubt the most highly detailed and decorated models we EVER made and they stand at about 4" tall. Have a look at the photo and you will see the models. One is unpainted and would have been used to make the actual mould and the other is fully painted and would have been used to check the eventual decoration. The actual cost to have these models made by one of the worlds leading model-makers was in the 'Hundreds' of pounds - but we are offering them WITHOUT RESERVE!!! We have also put a 'RIMMER' model on eBay so have a look for it. Happy Bidding for these truly unique items of memorabilia and something that will inevitably increase in value. Red up on it here at G&T. And check out Rimmer and Lister. |

DVD INFO AT THE WHITE HOLE The White Hole have some excellent info on the upcoming Red Dwarf DVDs from the mouth of Andrew Ellard himself. Again, great work Cappsy! The Series V featurette will be titled "Bad Guys", and Series VI is "Sick". Possible cover art for Series VII and VIII include the maroony-purple GELF ship, and the orange prison towers from Floor 13. For more you will have to check out this link to The White Hole. Again GREAT work Cappsy :-D Our DVD Section has been updated with all the new juicy information. |

Series I - V DVD SPINES Using this image of the Series V cover, I have (rather poorly) attempted to line up the Series V spine with the spines for the first four series to give an impression of what they will all look like together.

DOUG NAYLOR'S E-MAIL ONLINE Well now I know exactly what The White Hole and Ganymede & Titan were on about - Doug Naylor's Dimension Jump message is now online on the official website. You can read it all here. Also at the official website is Mr Flibble's report on Dimension Jump! Some great info and images which you can check out by clicking here. Finaly at the OS is some great information on DVD Special Features, here. Sor Series V there's info on Mick Tucker's behind-the-scenes SFX footage, and Craig Charle's Best Ever Episode introduction. Series VI has some 8mm SFX footage and some GREAT information on a "Making of" footage which was originally planned for release on VHS in 1993. There are also 4 trailers per series! These two DVDs are going to be FAN-SMEGGING-TASTIC! What a great day for updates at the official website. |

COMEDY CONNECTIONS The White Hole remind us all that the new series of Comedy Connections begins tonight at 10:35pm on BBC1. As you probably know, Red Dwarf is set to make an appearence with its very own episode this series. When this episode will be aired is unknown, but it is believed that tonight's episode is The Goodies, and next week's Birds of a Feather. It may be worth checking tonight and next week to to ensure that schedules haven't changed (and I'm sure even the non-Dwarf episodes will be fun to watch). In other news, Garbage World has noticed that "FAT", Rob Grant's new book has been pushed back from 1st May 2005 to the 19th May 2005. Luckily not a major set back, unlike other projects over the past few years. You can pre-order FAT from Amazon. |

BUY A PIECE OF DWARF Ganymede & Titan have discovered somethin great over at eBay. Red Dwarf's Peter Tyler has placed up for sale THREE pieces of the Red Dwarf ship that was blown up for an effects shot in Demons And Angels. It's a shame the model was blown up, because it meant we had to put up with crappy CGI shots for Series VIII, but you can now purchase a piece of Dwarf history! The three pieces can be found here, here, and here. If you're going to place a bid, don't expect them cheaply! ![]() |

RED DWARF: THE MOVIE POSTER CLICK TO ENLARGEDon't get too excited, it's not the real deal! Just a nice piece of fan art kindly e-mailed into us from Jack Smith. But this is how I would like the Red Dwarf: The Movie poster to look, and I also hope the "2005" date is correct! I have decided to create a new section "Fan Zone", which will contain all fan-made materials such as Fan Arts, Fan Fictions, posters, and much more. If you have anything you would like to share with us, then please e-mail it to fanzone@thereddwarfzone.co.uk. We should have the new section up soon, so please get sending your work in! |

SCRAPHEAP ON EXAM AND G&T DOWN Rather unrelated, but slightly interesting. Well actually no it isn't interesting but I'm bored! People sitting "The Scientific and Social Domain" A-level General Studies exam today (exam board OCR) were treated to a question about Scrapheap Challenge. Students had to write an essay about how the team members on the show found constructing enjoyable. Like I said, unrelated and uninteresting. In other, more interesting Scrapheap news, Robert Llewellyn posted this interesting news up on his guestbook: ![]() LMFAO at his Red Dwarf movie news!!! In other news, fan sites Ganymede & Titan and Garbage World appear to be down, but don't wory I'm sure they'll be back soon. It looks like some server troubles. |

MORE DVD DETAILS AT OS The official website has updated, with information on how the amazing Red Dwarf DVDs are edited. Well worth checking out, here. Andrew Ellard also reveals the names of the documentaries and featurettes, although not before The White Hole who revealed that information after Dimension Jump. However the song tracks for the featurettes are revealed: "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" by Bachman Turner Overdrive, and "Mama Told Me Not To Come" by Tom Jones and the Stereophonics. Also some great news - the documentaries run at 75 minutes each! WOW! Also at the official website, news of episode repeats on BBC2 (which G&T reported on here) and repeats on Canada BBC Kids, The Story Makers with Dany John-Jules is coming to DVD, and news on the Red Dwarf episode of Comedy Connectons. That can all be checked out here. |

BRITTAS DELAYED When I heard on Ganymede & Titan that The Brittas Empire Series 4 DVD release had been delayed, I was pretty miffed. But luckily it is only for one week. The DVD will now be released on 19th July 2004. G&T also notice that the Product Enterprise website has gone down, but I don't think the company would have gone bust, and I'm sure the Starbug Playset will still be available to purchase soon. Check out these news articles over at G&T here. |

OFFICIAL SITE UPDATES Well what does the official site have in store for us this week? Well not much! The main news article is on the BBC 2 repeats, which you can read here. Red Dwarf double-bills every wednesday sounds great! It's looking like Series VIII will also be repeated, but I hope it goes back to Series I after that and continues a complete Series I - VIII rerun! The final update at the OS I can't even link to, so you'll just have to visit the official website by clicking here. It is a small caption stating that Talkie Toaster is on a break, but will be back soon. I had kinda guessed that Talkie Toaster was on a break considering there hadn't been an interview since the begnning of May! There hasn't been much in terms of updates today, but I think thats a sign that next weeks will be packed! |

A FEW SITE UPDATES Just a quick note about a few site updates. I became aware that the images on the 2003 News Archive were unusually large and were causing a very slow page upload. I have re-uploaded all the archive images which has improved page upload speeds by over 50%. I have also created an additional page here which is just a little bit about the site and myself, just incase anybody is interested. BOX SET IMAGE? The BBC Shop page for the upcoming Series I - IV Box Set (here) has uploaded an image for the box set: ![]() CLICK TO ENLARGE But wait, where's the box? This may just be a temporary image until the final artwork for the box set is complete, but it may also mean that Series I - IV will not be coming in a nice snazzy box! The Series 1 & 2, and Series 3 & 4 box sets that were released in the States were not contained in a nice box, but just wrapped together in the same sheet of plastic. Maybe this is the direction that the UK's 1 - 4 box set will take. If so it'll mean I won't have to buy them again! Fans who were hoping for a nice snazzy box shouldn't give up hope just yet, because remember Andrew Ellard statement on the official website: expect packaging shots to appear as soon as things are a little more concrete. So will the box set come in a nice box? I'll post more when I have it! |

OFFICIAL SITE UPDATE This week, the official website has updated with JUST ONE NEWS ARTICLE!!! But to be fair it is an interesting one. First off, At the Sci-Fi Collector website you can pick up the Stamp Centre's Kryten First Day Cover signed by Robert Llewellyn for £14.95. There is also a planned new series of mugs coming our way in August/September time. And what I think is the most exciting part of the article is this: On top of this, actual Red Dwarf stamps are in development! To check out the full article, and a preview of the stamp collection sheet, click here. In other news, a newspaper which I refuse to name because I hate them, are giving away a free BBC's "Great Comedy Moments" DVD tomorrow. Although Red Dwarf does not feature in this compilation (but features in the second two) you may be interested in purchasing the newspaper for this free DVD. It'll take more than a free DVD to make me pick up the paper though! Thanks to Mark for the heads up. |

DWARF CONNECTONS DATE With sod all happening in the world of Dwarf at the moment it's understandable that Ganymede & Titan (A scientific web site with numerous information on Ganymede and Titan) had not updated for a while. But they've finaly made one with the air date of the Red Dwarf Comedy Connections episode, something I've been looking for but failed to look in the most obvious place (The BBC Website). BARRIE LATEST Ganymede & Titan have reported on some news with Chris Barrie. First off they have a scan of an interview with him in SFX Magazine, where he talks briefly about Red Dwarf: The Movie and Tomb Raider 3. Unfortunatly it's the same old story, he doesn't think it's happening! G&T also report on another Chris Barrie tv show, similar to that of Massive Engines but now Barrie will be playing with heavy duty transport in Chris Barrie's Heavy Duty. Can't wait for that one! And finaly from G&T, they remind us all that The Brittas Empire Series 4 will be available on DVD from Monday. Play dispatched mine yesterday so hopefully I'll receive it over the weekend! Check this link to read G&T's report. |

BIG, MASSIVE, HUGE, EXCITING NEWS AT THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE Ok I lied, there is no big, massive, huge, exciting news at the official website. Actually it's another week of almost sod all happenin there. Actually there isn't sod all happening, but because it's July we're all expecting big "Red Dwarf: The Movie" news and it isn't coming. There is an interesting article on the RPG game which is finaly being released in the UK and Germany! You can click here to read more on that. The only other thing at the site today is a small caption explaining that Mr. Flibble is on holiday, which may be another reason for lack of exciting updates as Andrew Ellard may be away. |

MOVIE IN PRE PRODUCTION? Tommy alerts us that the IMDB has updated their Red Dwarf: The Movie page to list it as being in "Pre Production". Although the IMDB relies on contributions from it's readers, could this mean that the movie has finaly entered Pre Production? According to this page at the official site pre production was scheduled to begin in mid-july, so it's possible that Red Dwarf: The Movie is being made this very moment. But we're all still waiting for the announcement on RedDwarf.co.uk that the financing hasn't gone tits-up again. Also you may have noticed our Series V DVD Countdown Clock to help you count down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until 8th November when you can finaly pick up your copy of the DVD. There have also been some new additions to our Series V Price List, thanks to everyone who have been alerting us to the preorders. UPDATE: Well it looks like it wasn't official confirmation afterall, it was actually Blake who contributed to the IMDB. Thanks for letting me know Blake :-) Oh well, looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer for some confirmation that pre-production has began, I'm sure it will come soon though! |

SCI-FI NIGHT AT BRIDGEWATER Ganymede & Titan have some rather interesting news on their site. First off they have been alerted to this concert in Manchester in which Howard Goodall's amazing Red Dwarf theme will be played along side some of the greatest Movie themes ever created, such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Batman, and Lord of the Rings. It's great that the Red Dwarf is finaly being recognised as a great piece of music! Click here to read more. G&T also point us to this DVD review of the Japanese Series V - VIII Box Set. This is the first review of the Japanese DVDs that we have seen. Click here for more. Nope, that's not all at G&T. They also discuss an article in SFX Magazine about Chris Barrie's hosting of the SFX Reader's Awards, and an interesting piece about voting for the greatest Special Effects in Movie or TV (*cough* RED DWARF *cough*). For more information on that and to learn how you can vote for Red Dwarf, check out this link at Ganymede & Titan. |

We're yet to hear word on special features, artwork, specs, etc. but we'll publish more when we have it. You can read the Official Site report in both English and Deutsch. That's all there was at the official website this week, hopefully there will be more next week! Please also excuse my poor German in the heading, I don't know how accurate it is! |

STUNNING ARTWORK The official site updated this afternoon with a look at the artwork for the upcoming Series V DVD Gift Set. This looks absolutley STUNNING! ![]() I will be ordering both the DVD, and he box set. Of course the box set will just be for show and I will never open it! There's not really much more info on the gift set that we don't already know, confirms the date of 8th November and that is is a UK exclusive (but possibly may also go to Australia). You can read read all about it here. Just one other update at the OS, John Lenahan will be appearing in "Secrets of Magic" which will basically spoil many of the best magic tricks. Isn't that going against the magic code??? Anyways, that's on at 6:05pm on 8th August. You can read about that here. |

RED DWARF BOXSET IN 2006! We had already guessed this was coming anyway, but Robert Llewellyn confirms on his guestbook that there will indeed be a Red Dwarf DVD Box Set coming in 2006! ![]() This interesting point is "with lots of extra bits"... Extra bits? Hmmmm, I'm intrigued. While on the discussion of DVDs, using this image of the Series V gift set, I have modified the back image to give us a better view at what the reverse of the DVD will look like: ![]() But still no idea what any of it says, although we probably already know everything on the extras list anyway. |

CRAIG FOR IACGMOOH! That's mean's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Yup, according to The People newspaper Craig Charles is in line for the next series of the popular ITV show. I'm actually kinda hoping he is, and would be supporting him all the way. But I'd love to see him put his head in a jar of bullet ants, to bring it out looking like he has space mumps again. You can read all about this over at Digital Spy and Ganymede & Titan. |

CRAIG IS THE WEAKEST LINK An annonymoous reader has sent in that Craig Charles will be on The Weakest Link on Wednesday at 8pm on BBC1. Also on the show are Chesney Hawkes, Andrew Morton and Wolf from the Gladiators! I'm bloody working so I'll miss it, but I doubt Craig will get too far on it anyway. But be sure not to miss it, and if you do miss it get your video/DVD recorders ready. |

COVER AND MOVIE NEWS Ganymede & Titan have some interesting news. First off they report on a cover version of the Red Dwarf Theme by JLK. You can read all about that here. They have also contacted the Pacific Film and Television Commission about Red Dwarf: The Movie filming in Queensland. You can read their response here. In some rather unrelated news, there have been a few updates to the Series V DVD Price List. |

DO YOU WANT THE GOOD NEWS OR THE BAD NEWS? If I start with the good news and end on the bad news you'll be a miserable goit all day, so I'll end with the good news. The bad news is that the Red Dwarf episode of Comedy Connections has been delayed due to the bloody Olympics. Who's arsed about the smeggin' Olympics?? WE WAN'T RED DWARF! 6th September is now looking like a likely date for the episode, you can read more on that here. Yup, depressing isn't it! But now here's some good news to cheer you up... Danny John-Jules will be attending the Memorabilia Fair at Birmingham on Saturday 14th August, and the Starbug laser-etch is also finally entering production! You can read about that at this link. And now onto the super-dooper-fantastic great news! The complete specs list for the Series V DVD:
No word on the Fan Profiles, which will most likely be one of the Easter Eggs. Also no metion on the Collector's Booklet, but we know that will deffinatly be coming! You can read all about the complete content from this link. This is the first time we've heard official word on the "Dwarfing USA" feature, and it looks like the BBC are trying to get rights to show clips from the pilot. Why not just try and get rights to show the whole thing, it'd probably just be as rediculously hard for them! |

DECORATE YOUR COMPUTER WITH TRDZ Well it's a Sunday evening and I'm bored, so I decided to try and create my own Red Dwarf wallpaper. Why? I don't know, it's not like anyone's gonna actually use it, but most other Red Dwarf websites have their wallpapers so I decided to add my own. You can access the wallpaper through our new Download Section. Ok so it's not really a Download Section yet but I will be adding more to it over time, and will hopefully get a few more and better desktop wallpaper's too. |

Brittas 5 is also due for release on 4th October. Also toake a look at this link at the official site. It looks like July's Pre Production plan didn't go ahead, but Pre Production is now listed as going ahead "shortly". The filming schedule is still stated as January 2005. DAVE HOLLINS INFO The White Hole have informed us all that all Dave Hollins Sketches will appear on Red Dwarf DVD, one on each DVD (well one DVD will have two). You can click here to check out what Andrew Ellard told Cappsy! MIKE TUCKER'S IN CAPPSY'S HOLE! *cough* The White Hole have uploaded their Mike Tucker interview, and again great work from Jonathan Capps. You'll have to click here to read it all, but one interesting nugget of information is on his next project: I'm afraid I'm going to have to be a little closed lipped about the exact nature of the projects that I'm involved with at present - but I do have a number of my old colleagues from 'Dwarf' working alongside me... He'd best be bloody talking about Red Dwarf: The Movie, I'd top myself if he wasn't involved! Maybe he's talking about the new series of Dr. Who. Hopefully both! |

MOVIE FINANCE We're all waiting the day when we have official confirmation that Red Dwarf: The Movie will have finance, but for now I found some random bollocks which doesn't really mean anything at all but I was bored and stuck for a news article! Browsing the net I came across this website. And on this website I came across this list. And in this list are three rather interesting companies: RED DWARF FILMS LIMITED RED DWARF LIMITED RED DWARF PICTURES PLC I have no idea what this UK Data Net company do. I don't think they provide finance for the companies, but if you would like to keep a closer eye on the movie's finance you can do so (by forking out a bit of cash). If anybody could shed more light on the finances, or wants to pay for some reports and then tell us what's on them you can e-mail us at postmaster@thereddwarfzone.co.uk. You can also find GRANT NAYLOR PRODUCTIONS LIMITED listed. |

RED DWARF PROGRAMME CHOICE I can't remember if this has been brought up on other websites, so if it has I apologise and treat this as a reminder. Brian Dwyer e-mailed in to tell us that Red Dwarf has been chosen as this weekend's Programme Choice on UKTV G2. Series 8 episodes 1 - 4 will be shown from 9pm tonight (and each episode will be repeated for some reason), and tomorrow episodes 5 - 8 will be shown with the same arrangement. Hopefully the episode won't be butchered like they usually are on UKTV G2, but then again with Series 8 would that be a bad thing? |

FAT ARSE! Garbage World have spotted the synopsis of Rob Grant's upcoming novel FAT over at Amazon: A few years from now we will all be fat. If current trends persist its a fact. Statistics never lie. Just like the scales never lie. Just like your friends never lie when you ask if your 'bum looks big in this'. Well maybe not the last one. Rob Grant's new novel is set in the near future. In a world which has squeezed through the double doors and gone the way of America. And remember; in the land of the criminally obese the stout man is king. Rob Grant is a hugely commerical new voice in mainstream, high concept, high in poly-saturates, commercial fiction. Its also safe to say that with this, his hilarious new novel, he's writing about what he knows... Fat is due for release on 19th May 2005. I'm not a big reader, but I may give it a try! |

G'DAY MATE! Matt alerts us that on 16th August at 8pm ET, Australian TV channel ABC will be showing a special "The Best TV Shows That Never Were". On the advert for the TV show was a quick one second clip of the Red Dwarf US Pilot with Jane Leeves as Holly. It looks like The US Pilot will be featured on the special, and possibly some clips from the show also! Those darn, lucky, kangeroo loving Australians!!! Be sure not to miss it, and if anybody would be kind enough to put it onto an MPEG and e-mail it over I'd be most grateful! UPDATE (15th August 2004) Ganymede & Titan have received word through their comments that it is infact the American ABC channel and not the Australian one which will be airing this TV Special. So you lucky kangeroo-loving Americans!!! Damn, don't quite work as well! |

G&T LOVELINESS Bloody hell! Six updates yesterday! That's like three week's worth of updates in one day! I also went to see The Bourne Supremacy yesterday which stars Stoke Me A Clipper's Brian Cox and he was excellent as usual. Go and see it if you can, even if it's not your type of film see it just for Brian (I'm a big fan of his, hehehe). Damn I'm rambling again, sorry... Anyways, head over to Ganymede & Titan for some juicy loveliness. They have some news bits here about Re-Mastered videos, Prop Store, BBC Prime, Hattie Hyridge stand-up, and archive website stuff. NEWS CATCH UP Getting online this week has been a bit of a pain, so here's a catch up of some news over the past few days: Garbage World has a review of the The Best TV Shows That Never Were show which aired on American (not Australian) ABC Channel. You can read that here. The White Hole has received word that the Red Dwarf Comedy Connections will air on 30th August at 10:55pm on BBC ONE. Ganymede & Titan have also discovered SERIES VI - DVD EXTRAS over at the BBFC, read more here. Finaly I received this interesting e-mail from Tim Gillooley yesterday: Lets help to make the RED DWARF MOVIE a reality.... RIGHT! Time to get serious! Having just witnessed how on-line petitions can save a TV series E.G. Star Trek : Enterprise... it's time we all got together and started signing, we want this to be the fastest growing petition to the point of crashing servers!!!! Tell your friends, tell your enemies, tell your doctor, nurse, bit on the side, dog, cat and fish to get here and sign this petition, if we do this right we could seriously grab someone in Hollywood, British film industry or even Bollywood (we all remember tongue tied) ANYONE with the cash to get this going! Look at it this way, if we can get £2 for every signature we get here all we need is 5 million signatures to hopefully start making this film a reality! http://www.PetitionOnline.com/rdmovie/petition.html I know this isn't the first time this has been tried but I am planning an all out assault, I personally will be visiting every sci-fi site and bulletin board I can find and asking for help! If you know of a website without this petition being mentioned then send them a link please try to keep this message. Add to it, edit it, but keep the jist going! Lets see if we cant bring the petition server to its knees! If we can get this on the news we can get our movie! Come on guys stop thinking "when is this movie gonna be made" and be a part of getting it off the ground! Yours truly, Tim Gillooley (Red Dwarf Fan) I REALLY don't think this is gonna work, but hey we've tried everything else! At least Tim got it right and is aiming this petition at the people with money rather than at Doug Naylor. Although I think Doug has probably got, or nearly got, the money he needs I'll give it a sign just incase. Whether it'll work I don't know but we've got nothing to loose. If you want to sign the petition you can do so by clicking here. I hope this helps Tim!!! |

WEEK'S ROUNDUP Huge apologies for the lack of updates over the past two weeks. Regular updates should now continue as usual, but here's a recap of what's been missed over the past week: Let's start with Ganymede & Titan. Here they have a download of the Red Dwarf USA segment of The Best TV Shows That Never Were (or TBTVSTNW being the best abbreviation ever). I'm so glad we don't get shite TV shows like that over here in the UK *cough*! G&T have also discovered more info on the Series I - IV Box Set, including an image, over at Amazon.co.uk. Click here to read more. And also more BBFC Classifications here. Now onto the official site, and their updates yesterday. WHAT'S ON THE MENU? The official website has shown us some brilliant menu shots from the upcoming Series V DVD. The Drive Room menu is now from the Low Red Dwarf, and the Officer's Quarters that of the High Red Dwarf. ![]() CLICK TO ENLARGE The Special Features menu will now come in two halves to correct the difficulties with the Series III and IV menu. It's a shame so many Red Dwarf fans have crap DVD players, I'd rather have all the extras on one screen. But not a terrible loss, plus the camera rotates to show more of the High Officer's Quarters. You can read up more on the menus, and take a good goosey at them, by clicking on this link here. Also at TOS today, news that Sky One are holding sci-fi polls for the best Robot, Moment and Alien. Red Dwarf, of course, are included in the Robot and Moment poll, and thankfully not in the Alien poll otherwise Sky One would get a mouthfull! Kryten is currently coming 2nd in the Best Sci-Fi Robot poll, just behind the T-1000 from Terminator 2. The "Lister's Boxershorts" scene is currently 5th in the Moments poll. The results of these polls will be shown on the "The Ultimate Sci-Fi Top Ten" so lets hope Red Dwarf scores good! Click here to read more. |

CHAPTER LISTINGS The official website has updated today with the chapter listings for the Series V DVD. Each episode contains nine chapters, carefully selected for scenes where fans will most likely want to skip to. Original plans for 12 chapters were also revealed and personally I think I would have prefered this, but Andrew Ellard is correct in saying that nine was enough and it takes no time at all to fast forward a DVD two minutes. To read more on the chapter listings, check out this link to the official site. Also at the official site is a reminder that Red Dwarf: Just The Shows, Volume 1 is out on Monday. This DVD set contains all episode from Series I to IV but no special features. To read more click here. And the final update today is on this article from last week. Images and Episode Listings have now been added for Chris Barrie's Massive Machines. |
